Your email address is used for authentication and is not public. Your username, display name, bio, avatar, equipped cosmetics, and certain gameplay statistics may be visible to other players.
3. User Content
We collect content you create in the game, including chat messages, message reactions, campfire names, reports, and friendships and blocks.
Public user-written content is subject to automated moderation before acceptance. Chat messages that fail moderation are rejected before storage.
4. Gameplay Information
To operate the game we collect gameplay information, including:
- Campfire membership
- Fire tending and fuel contributions
- Gathering and foraging activity
- Inventory and crafting
- Owned and equipped items
- Activities and events participation
- Friendships and social interactions
- Notification preferences
- Game progress and gameplay statistics
5. Purchases
Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store using StoreKit. Campfire Crossing may receive and store product IDs, Apple transaction IDs, purchase price and currency, purchase timestamps, purchase environment, fulfillment and entitlement status, and an opaque randomly-generated account-binding token.
Campfire Crossing does not receive or store credit or debit card numbers, your Apple ID password, your billing address, or payment card details. Apple handles payment processing.
6. Device and Technical Information
We collect an Expo push token, device platform, app version, device locale, iOS build information, IP address, user agent, and basic app-launch analytics. Expo Insights may include a random installation identifier, app version, OS version, platform, and app-launch events.
The app does not currently collect precise location, contacts, camera content, photo library content, microphone recordings, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking data.
7. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your account and sign you in
- Operate the game and its features
- Support gameplay, inventory, and purchases
- Provide chat and social features
- Send notifications you have enabled
- Moderate content and investigate abuse
- Prevent fraud and misuse
- Respond to support requests
- Improve reliability and understand basic usage
8. Content Moderation
Certain public user-written content may be automatically reviewed. Chat message text may be sent to OpenAI for automated moderation. Your email, username, user ID, campfire ID, and IP address are not included in the moderation request; only the text being evaluated is sent. Blocked chat content is not stored as a chat message. Local safety checks may run first.
9. Push Notifications
Push notifications are delivered using Expo and the Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Notifications may include a campfire name, sender display name, chat preview, or gameplay alerts, and this content may pass through Expo and Apple. You can disable notifications in your device settings or in-game preferences.
10. Third-Party Services
Campfire Crossing relies on the following providers:
- Vibecode for backend hosting, database, and infrastructure
- OpenAI for automated content moderation
- Expo for push delivery and basic launch analytics
- Apple for App Store purchases, transaction verification, and APNs
- Resend for email login codes
These providers receive the information necessary to perform their service.
11. Reports, Blocking, and Safety
Campfire Crossing provides report, block, and unblock tools. Report snapshots may retain surrounding context for moderation purposes. Safety evidence may survive account deletion in anonymized form.
12. Account Deletion
Permanent account deletion is available in-app. Deletion removes your account and authentication record, authored chat messages, push registrations, friendships and blocks, inventory and gameplay records, store purchases and entitlements tied to your account, and social and activity participation. Safety reports may survive in anonymized form. If you founded a campfire, ownership may transfer to another active member; an empty campfire may be deleted. Deletion is permanent.
13. Data Retention
We retain information as needed to operate the service, provide requested services, protect users, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Some anonymized or disconnected safety records may survive account deletion.
14. Selling, Advertising, and Tracking
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information for third-party advertising. The app contains no third-party ads and no ad SDKs. We do not use the IDFA, do not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking, and do not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. Children
Campfire Crossing is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above or provide notice where appropriate.
